For April Fools 2018, Burger King played a joke on its customers, announcing it was offering a “Chocolate Whopper.” However, it’s no longer a joke: the “Chocolate Whopper” has become a reality. At least in one country.
According to a report by Hypebeast, the American fast food chain recently debuted its “Hershey’s Chocolate Whopper” in Taiwan: a Whopper with the burger smothered in Hershey’s chocolate sauce.
The report clarified that the new “Chocolate Whopper” wasn’t like the dessert version described in the April Fools prank – featuring “chocolate buns sandwiching a chocolate patty, candied oranges and white chocolate rings all covered in raspberry sauce.”
But, according to the Hypebeast report, during its one-day offer in Taiwan City, the actual Chocolate Whopper attracted a “massive crowd,” with lines almost 110 yards long coming out of the restaurants, and 506 of the sandwiches were sold.
