Alabama had its second preseason scrimmage Saturday.

While the scrimmage was closed to the media, here are some notes on the scrimmage based on information gathered from AL.com sources:

Offense

— The feedback was good regarding the quarterbacks. While Mac Jones had an interception, which it sounds like safety Daniel Wright was responsible for, word is that it was a second straight positive Saturday for Jones after a really strong showing during the Crimson Tide’s simulated game session Sept. 5. Five-star freshman Bryce Young had a touchdown pass of about 50 yards to fellow freshman Javon Baker.

— Alabama’s young running backs did some good things, most notably redshirt freshman Trey Sanders. The former five-star recruit had some standout moments. So did four-star freshman Jase McClellan.

— Left tackle Alex Leatherwood didn’t participate in the scrimmage. With him out, it sounds like the primary first-team tackles were Evan Neal and Kendall Randolph.
